More well known for its range of smartwatches, ZenBuds is Amazfit’s first foray into the ‘hearables’ market. Launched at CES 2020, ZenBuds are a pair of Bluetooth enabled wireless earbuds sporting a range of features designed to help you relax and improve your sleep.
Whilst cynics might argue that ZenBuds are a knockdown version of the Bose SleepBuds, these Chinese sleep earbuds – made by Huami, the same company that manufacturers Xiaomi’s popular Mi Band range – have several differences over its Bose competitors.
Like their Bose predecessors, you can’t listen to your own music with ZenBuds, instead they come with a built-in library of sleep-inducing soundscapes. Sensors inside the earbuds detect when you’ve fallen asleep and automatically pause playback, so you can sleep soundly throughout the night.
Sleep tracking
With a long track record in producing high quality fitness trackers and smartwatches, ZenBuds are the first sleep earbuds to incorporate detailed sleep tracking features, allowing you to record your sleep status and stages throughout the night. ZenBuds can detect heart-rate, movement, sleep position and using the companion Amazfit App, provide a full report to check your sleep quality and get recommendations for improving your sleep.
Ergonomic Design
ZenBuds are also incredibly compact, each earbud weighing only 1.78g a third of the weight of Apple Airpods. Designed for all night use, the buds feature innovatively designed silicon braces which press softly but firmly against your outer ear, preventing them from slipping out as you move around during the night.
Battery Life
The micro lithium-ion batteries provide 8 hours of battery life in a single charge and with the included charging case, you can get another 56 hours of power. However, due the to fact that the earbuds can automatically shut-off when they’ve detected you’ve fallen asleep, Amazfit estimates up to 8 days use with a single charge.
Finally, the Amazfit ZenBuds also sport another first, a personal alarm clock so that in the morning, the alarm goes off in your ear without disturbing anybody else.
