Withings ScanWatch
Announced at CES 2020 the Withings ScanWatch is an advanced health, stylish wearable which includes on-demand ECG heart measurements, sleep apnea detection and a 30 day battery life.
ScanWatch replaces the older generation Steel HR. It still keeps its heart rate monitor but includes an Sp02 sensor to measure blood oxygen levels which can track sleep apnea events.
The Sp02 sensor works by measuring blood colour. Changes in blood colour indicate variations in oxygenation levels. Users might have a hard time knowing if they suffer from sleep apnea episodes. Those who suffer from this condition need the help of a doctor. Sleep apnea has been linked to health issues such as high blood pressure.
The watch can also be used to monitor overall fitness. It measures VO2 max with effort indication for various activities. Those who want to stay in shape by climbing also benefit from an included altimeter.
Connected GPS also means users can start running and tracking their efforts and compatibility with third-party apps turns this watch into a tracker for runners of all levels.
Heart rate readings are also registered both during and after workouts. You can measure the improvements in cardiovascular health by checking the statistics within the Withings Health Mate app.
Physical characteristics have also improved in this 2020 watch. Compared to previous Withings releases, it comes with a bigger PMOLED screen.
Sapphire glass has been used on the Scanwatch series. This type of glass is known for its scratch-resistant capacity. For active users, having a watch that doesn’t scratch easily is particularly appealing.
